The Bible and YOU

What's in the Bible for you? Do you know that the Bible is the Word of God?

God worked through humans and they wrote all the Scripture in the Old and New Testaments. They wrote about all the things that God had in mind for us. God also gave us the Bible so we can understand that he loves us—after all, he sent His Son Jesus to die in place of us because of our sins. Someone had to pay the penalty for our sins and Jesus took on all of our guilt. God the Father let Jesus die so we could ultimately live! How amazing is that? Jesus died, but then he arose again from being dead—and you too will live again. I know, you don’t want to think about dying now. But keep in mind, the Bible is your “Text” book on life. And once you start reading your Bible, the Holy Spirit will start working great things in you by helping you learn, love, and obey God. You can be born again into a new way of life you never thought possible! Yes—it's true. Once you start to read your Bible you will start to change. You will realize that you need to stop sinning and start loving. You might think that "sinning" is an old fashioned word, but that is just what we do. We disobey our parents, we argue, fight, lie, cheat, and do all sorts of nasty things. But once we start to read and study our Bible, our attitude starts to change. We become less likely to want to do those mean things anymore. We start becoming more like Jesus: Loving, pure, obedient, kind, and caring.

And you know what happens when we believe in Jesus? Why God adopts us into his family. Imagine, God is our FATHER!!! It can’t get any better. Knowing that God is our Dad, who is going to take us to heaven someday, we don’t ever have to be afraid! We’ll talk about this in another discussion, but now open your Bibles to Matthew. Start there. Read a chapter a day. You’ll learn how Jesus was born, how he grew into a young boy, and how he was as a man. You’ll get closer to Jesus knowing he had to go through the same things—and worse—as you. So start today!

"For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that who so ever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16.
